IN DEFENCE OF ROGER WATERS: Palestine Needs A Real Comfortable Shape: West Bank, Gaza & East Jerusalem Must Be Unified

Quote: Rabbi Shmuley Boteach today met with Democratic Presidential candidate Robert Kennedy, Jr. and discussed Israel, the rise of antisemitism, and Kennedy’s recent tweet where he supported Roger Waters. “It was courageous of Bobby to come and meet me and reassert his lifelong support of Israel and the Jewish people, continuing in the legacy of his great father who was murdered by Palestinian gunman Sirhan Sirhan because of his own support of Israel in 1968.” Rabbi Shmuley and Kennedy discussed the volatile situation in the Middle East and the challenges facing America for more than two hours.

Kennedy explained that his tweet about Waters was in response to someone sharing with him a picture that Waters flashed of Kennedy at one of his concerts, saluting the candidate’s willingness to swim against societal currents. “Bobby told me he had no idea that Waters was a vicious antisemite and when he studied the issue and the facts, he immediately deleted the tweet. I believe Bobby and I thank him for his repudiation of Waters. How tragic it is for Waters to have his legacy as an antisemite now overtake his legacy as an accomplished artist.”

Which are the facts? Bobby studied them, I found them on Wikiepdia and still stand by Roger Waters:

“So, you think you can tell”: “Waters incorporates political themes in his work and has drawn controversy for his views, mainly his views on the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. He called for the removal of the Israeli West Bank Barrier and supports the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement. He has likened Israel to Nazi Germany and described its treatment of Palestinians as apartheid. Waters has been accused of antisemitism, which he dismissed as politically motivated and the product of conflating antisemitism with anti-Zionism.”

Israeli–Palestinian conflict and accusations of antisemitism

Waters supports Palestine in the Israeli–Palestinian conflict.[125] He is a supporter of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS), a campaign for an international boycott of Israel.[126] Waters first saw the Israeli West Bank barrier in 2006, at the request of Palestinian supporters, when he was scheduled to perform in Tel Aviv. He subsequently moved a Tel Aviv concert to Neve Shalom and called for the barrier’s removal: “The wall is an appalling edifice to behold. It is policed by young Israeli soldiers who treated me, a casual observer from another world, with disdainful aggression.”[127][128] He described Israel’s treatment of Palestinians as apartheid.[129]

In 2013, Rabbi Abraham Cooper, the associate dean of the Jewish human rights organisation the Simon Wiesenthal Center, accused Waters of antisemitism for including a giant pig balloon bearing a Star of David in his concerts.[130][131] Waters responded that it was one of several religious and political symbols in the show and not an attempt to single out Judaism as an evil force.[125] Later that year, Waters compared the Israeli treatment of Palestinians to Nazi Germany, saying: “The parallels with what went on in the 1930s in Germany are so crushingly obvious.”[125] He said the reason why few celebrities had joined the BDS movement in the United States was because “the Jewish lobby is extraordinary powerful here and particularly in the industry that I work in, the music industry”.[132][133]

Following the remarks, the Anti-Defamation League charged that Waters’ remarks were antisemitic.[133] The American rabbi Shmuley Boteach responded to Waters in the New York Observer: “That you would have the audacity to compare Jews to monsters who murdered them shows you have no decency, you have no heart, you have no soul.”[125] Speaking in New York afterwards, Waters said supporters of Israel often attack critics as antisemitic as a “diversionary tactic” by conflating anti-Zionism with antisemitism.[125]

In 2015, Waters published an open letter in Salon criticising the rock band Bon Jovi for performing in Tel Aviv.[134] In 2017, he urged Radiohead to cancel a concert there, signing a letter with 50 others,[126] and was co-signatory on an open letter asking Nick Cave to cancel his.[135][136] Neither Radiohead nor Cave cancelled their concerts.[137][138][139] Waters narrated the 2016 documentary The Occupation of the American Mind: Israel’s Public Relations War in the United States about the methods used by Israel to shape American public opinion.[140][141]

I obviously side with Waters, I have denounced the Israeli lobby’s political racket, the money they suck in foreign aid for themselves to Israel for such things as the Iron Dome, that costs billions of dollars, American taxpayers’s funded. But what’s most outrageous for me is… the dual passport, the fact that American Jews, Italian and English Jews are almost all dual Nationals who deprive the Palestinians of their only one home, because they occupy it and then move to New York, Rome and London to lobby for us to help them against the Palestinians who quite simply did nothing against us and for them to have rights in Europe and in the USA as total citinzenship’s rights that they would never concede to us Christians in Israel. BTW, what’s Israel? They don’t accept that the Palestinian people have their territory in the so called Holy Land and invade it, they have split the palestinian land in a way that Gaza which is on the West side on the Mediterranean bordering Egypt and the West Bank of the Jordan which is on the East side do not border, they are separated, like two cages, and East Jerusalem under Trump they occupied it, Trump with Jared and Ivanka, two Jews who live comfortably in America but think they own Israel as Jews, they have declared that the Palestinian Embassy is no more than an office inside the building of the Israeli Embassy controlled by the Israelis, the US State Department is in the hands of Jews (Blinken and Nuland State Secretary and Vice are both Jews) and in the Middle East State Department also the staffers are said to be all Jews. All.

Great.

Roger Waters is right. But does the pro-Palestine candidate for US President even exist? In a world when even Vladimir Putin doesn’t want to alienate the Jewish Lobby and he is the most courageous leader in the world (perhaps after Assad, I’m glad they want him back in the Arab League).

I state that Palestine must have a sensible shape: Gaza and West Bank and East Jerusalem must be unified with the territory in the middle and be a State, with a Passport, a Capital City, Embassy etc. And the sea in front of Gaza must be considered Palestinian territorial waters, now Israel considers it Israeli waters… they don’t consider Palestine existing and we have the Israeli Dual Nationals bullying around in our States, purging the Anti-Israelis.

Bill Clinton was still independent from the Jewish lobby, so was Reagan, now it’s over, it seems clear both Democrats and Republicans are not.

Do you want to be a friend of the Jews? I’d rather not. Because friendship with the Jews comes at a cost: you have to side with them politically and give them what you don’t want to give: the Palestinian land, plus money in foreign aid, plus the dual nationality in your Country, plus accepting that they instead in Israel accept as Nationals only other Jews, and not Christians because Israel is and “must remain” a Jewish State, so even Erik Prince (happy birthday for yesterday, btw, 54 on fire, on the 6/6) even Erik Prince so often collaborating with the Jews, with Israel… when he needed a Middle Eastern dual passport, he got it from the Arabs, of Doha perhaps or Abu Dhabi, if I remember, and that’s not fair. The Jews take, and the Arabs give.

Bravo Roger. So you think you can tell. Yes, I think I can tell.
